I'm not sure how Spanish Law has any jurisdiction or relevance over U.S. citizens. Whether they are guilty of torture or not I am uncomfortable with Spain taking legal action and claiming jurisdiction beyond its borders.

I am uncomfortable with that too, Nate. But you have to ask yourself: does US law have any jurisdiction over the citizens of other nations?

We've asserted that jurisdiction ever since 9/11. If Spanish law doesn't apply beyond their borders, why does US law apply beyond its borders?

Easy for us to question whether other counties have legal jurisdiction beyond their borders, but not so easy to question our own actions beyond our own borders.

In that light the Spaniards are only doing what the American's have already done.
