Voting Quiz

Those were good videos, Andy. Thanks. On the video about John McCain, it listed Glassbooth.org in the list of sources. It shows where each candidate stands on several issues. There is a quiz you can take and it shows you which candidate you most closely align with, or how similar your views are to theirs. Here are my results:

Ralph Nader - 76% similarity
Barack Obama- 66% similarity
John McCain - 48% similarity

Perhaps I should consider the Nader Vader for president...

My results:

Ralph Nader - 84% similarity
Barack Obama- 70% similarity
John McCain - 44% similarity

And out of curiosity I looked at past candidates also:

Mike Gravel - 86%
Dennis Kucinich - 85%
John Edwards - 74%
Hillary Clinton - 74%
Joe Biden - 69%
Ron Paul - 55%
Fred Thompson - 39%
Rudy Giuliani - 37%
Mitt Romney - 36%
Duncan Hunter - 29%
Tom Tancredo - 27%

Very interesting results. Thanks for sharing this website Chris. I have no idea who the hell Mike Gravel is, but apparently we agree on many things. Kucinich is the guy who is bringing impeachment charges against Pres Bush today in front of the Judiciary Committee. And although I like what Ron Paul had to say about the IRS and tax reform, our similarities stopped there.

This is a good tool for anyone to more closely relate to the candidates and get rid of some of the confusion on positions. Funny though, because in the primaries I was favoring Edwards over Obama, and come to find out that he has a 4 percentage point difference for me. Interesting.

Ok, I took the plunge and this is what the website said for me:

McCain 67%
Obama 50%
Nader 31%

The thing that scares me is that Nader is in my top 3, albeit he's only at 31% so we don't agree on much. Good, I can't stand that guy. Conversely, it is interesting to note that apparently I don't agree with ANY of the candidates more than 67% of the time, whereas Andy and I think Chris had one or two in the mid 80's. Interesting way to see how you stack up with the candidates.

Ok, like Andy, I went through and saw how I matched up with former candidates, not just current ones. It's interesting how many of us match up better with those who are not in the race anymore.

Tom Tancredo 84%
Duncan Hunter 84%
Mitt Romney 82%
Mike Huckabee 79%
Fred Thompson 70%
Ron Paul 51%
Hillary Clinton 48%
John Edwards 41%
Mike Gravel 26%
Dennis Kucinich 21%

I actually like Duncan Hunter, but I would never vote for Tancredo... he's wacked out.

Actually, I'm the most moderate of Spencer and Andy.

My range = 76%-41%
Spencer's = 84%-21%
Andrew's = 86%-27%

I redid the test since I didn't look at the other candidates, and these results are very similar to what I had before for the three main candidates, so I trust these results:

John Edwards: 76%
Mike Gravel: 75%
Hillary Clinton: 74%
Ralph Nader: 74%
Dennis Kucinich: 74%
Christopher Dodd: 72%
Joe Biden: 71%
Bill Richardson: 69%
Barack Obama: 66%
Mike Huckabee: 51%
Fred Thompson: 50%
Mitt Romney: 49%
John McCain: 46%
Tom Tancredo: 45%
Ron Paul: 45%
Rudy Giuliani: 42%
Duncan Hunter: 41%

Moderation in all things, brothers.

As for the others...

Tancredo 75%

Romney 69%
Thompson 68%
Gravel 44%

I am not really surprised of the results, except for Giuliani.
