This isn't surprising to me. I have always been very skeptical of global warming and I have always thought that it has merely been a political means to achieve some end.

I don't believe it either, Nate. And that end you talk about it money. There's a whole heck of a lot of money involved with global warming research.
I've always been rather sceptical about man-made global warming myself. In fact, I've never liked the term "global warming". I don't think it exists. "Climate change" however does exist.
Therefore, I don't particularly agree with some government environmental policies like carbon taxes, which Obama supports. I think such polices ought to be enacted for the sake of human health in reducing polution, but not in the name of global warming.
