Glenn Beck's take on all this

Here are a few email letters from Glenn Beck with his take on the economic crisis.

What Happened?

What's Coming?

He also has a future one coming up where he will be addressing how to prepare.

Great post Marne! I think Glenn has laid out the facts for us and I think that I am in total agreement that the politicians in Washington are to blame and they still will not listen to the people.

I was disgusted with the last debate. There is a reason why they are calling it the worst debate ever.

The sad thing about all this is that those on the left don't trust Obama and don't feel comfortable with him but who else are they going to vote for, they don't want McCain.

Those on the right don't trust or like McCain either but they don't want Obama so sadly enough thus election is going to be people casting their votes hesitantly for someone they are not fully for.

I wish people would consider third party candidates. We really have many more choices than these two liars!

I found it interesting that this problem staring with the subprime mortgages was done under the ideology that to own a house was a right and not a privileged. If you saw the last debate perhaps you will recall that Obama and McCain were asked the same question in relation to health care in which McCain called it a duty which was better than Obama's anwser which was a right.

So in relation to our current mess which happened by making homeownership a right think of what would happen if you approached health care the same. Lets screw up the economy even more!

I think Obama and McCain are both bad for this country and we all should look to other leadership!

After this second debate and the mess of the economy and the bailout I have pulled whatever support I was considering giving McCain and am looking for a third party to vote for. I never supported Obama but was considering McCain even though I disagreed with him.

Glenn is right, we must prepare for what is ahead and we must be wise.

I am shocked that neither candidate asked people to sacrifice by getting out of debt, limit spending, live within your means. They were asked this in the debate what they would ask us to sacrifice and neither answered it in like manner. Instead they said we need to focus on government.

I have had it with both Republicans and Democrats! I hope that some third party candidates win some electoral votes to show that America is fed up!

I look forward to Glenn's next and final letter.

Nate,

In Thomas Jefferson's words "...life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", what do you think he meant by the word life?

Marn thanks for posting this - very sombering. This isn't a time to let fear drive us, yet we need to recognize the urgency in the need for being prepared. Being as proactive as we can in our own lives will help us as the economy continues to be volatile. Jared and I felt an urgency a year ago to revisit our financial goals and thankfully we did - we have no debt, we own both our cars and Jared has carefully monitored our 401K so that the craziness of the market hasn't obliterated our retirement savings. I wish we owned our home, but we'll keep working on that. Jared's company has instigated massive layoffs over the past three months, and at first we felt confident, but realize now as things haven't improved that any day now he could be without a job. So, we are doing all we can today to prepare ourselves if it happens. If the worst happens and we lose our home, we have two cars we can live in! =) Like I said, we shouldn't let fear of the unknown consume us, but I personally think that those who are saying there is no danger and we shouldn't be worried that it will all work out - lies. There is danger - now is the time to prepare. Glenn Beck is right on the money.
