I listened to Obama's speech last night with an open mind and to me he was inspiring. We have to move forward now and be what we are - the UNITED States of America. That's the only way we can have hope for the future - working together. I hope Obama will be the leader we desperately need in this country. Watching the gathering by Obama supporters last night in Chicago, left me with a sense that people have hope again and that they want to regroup and be part of the cause that goes forward. When Obama asked those who didn't vote for him, to support him now and let him be our President, I decided to do that. I appreciated the gracious speech McCain made as well - I thought he said all the right words last night. It was interesting to be a part of history in this election.

I've also been really surprised at how much the rest of the world was into this election, reading about all of the celebrations going on all over the world, because Obama is our next President. I don't know a lot about foreign relations, just the basics. After reading all of the congratulatory statements from other world leaders to Obama, I again sense a great hope that seems to be rising not only within our country. I voted for McCain, but he may not have been the right man for the enormous job that awaits Obama. Obama will have to prove himself and he has a lot of hard, hard work to do. I hope he's the man for the job, since he's got it now! I don't remember other countries being so celebratory after an election - do you guys? There was even a blurb on Headline News today about a town in Japan named Obama and how they are hopful our Obama can shed a postive light on their town. (That will probably have to be lower on the priority list....but nice if it happens.)

Good thoughts, Angela, and I think your perspective on the people as a whole is correct. This has been and will continue to be something that can bring us together, to become united, in order to take on the troubling times ahead. And yes, Obama has some difficult times and decisions ahead. We need to be patient with him. With all this hype of the campaigns, we may have come to expect too much. Maybe not, but I hope people won't get upset by March because things haven't "changed" all that much. Change takes time.

That was a very good speech. Obama always has been hailed as a great orator. He is very captivating in his words and speeches.

Now that he is going to be President I hope that he will prove to do well and that he will show that he can deliver on his words (hopeful not all his words) :) and that he is more than just and orator.

Only time will tell if he is up to the challenge.
